In 1923, Madame Beatrice Alexander and her husband, began manufacturing dolls in New York City. The Alexander Company made exquisite composition dolls, as well as cloth dolls, through the 1940s. She began making hard plastic dolls in 1948 and made some of the most highly sought after dolls in the 1950s.
Madame Alexander dolls have always been collectible and should continue to be. They should endure in time and value. Wise collectors purchase dolls that they really like. Then, even if the dolls value doesn't go up, the collector has a beautiful doll that they love.
